Thank You
A big thank you for all your kind donations for this years Harvest Festival. The Dover Food Bank have collected and we donated a huge 185kg!
Below is a copy of the letter we received this morning from the Project Co-ordinator:
6 October 2020
Dear Mr Metcalfe,
Please accept the thanks of Dover Foodbank for the generous donation from your school’s harvest festival today. We really appreciate the school’s generosity once again this year towards the work of the foodbank and therefore towards the support of so many people in our local community.
The support which we receive from local schools and churches and other organisations at harvest time provides a significant boost to our food stocks and makes it possible for us to continue the work of supporting local people in their times of need. Over the last twelve months donations have made it possible for us to support over 4,100 people (ie. we have supplied three days’ worth of food and other essentials sufficient for over 4,100 local people in need). This has amounted to a staggering 35.5tonnes of supplies being given out – Thank you so much for your part in this work, Thank you for making a real and positive difference to so many people’s lives.
I have included a simple poster for you to display thanking you for the generous donation. The amount donated will be of significant help to those whom we are privileged to support and is much appreciated. You may be pleased to learn that the school has so far donated in excess of one tonne of supplies to the work of Dover Foodbank – that is sufficient to support over 115 people with all the food they need for 3 days. That’s a lot of food, and a lot of people helped by the school.
Do please feel free to contact us if there are any other ways in which you feel we may be able to work together to help support those in need in our local community over the coming months.
With kindest regards and every best wish,
Jonathan Wheeler
