Across the term, we used real maps to look at what the land was like.
'I really liked our learning with maps because we got to work out things in real life and a practical skill to read more into what maps can show us.' - Anya
'Our learning was really fun. It is really helpful to understand what happens in each direction and how steep or gentle a slope is from the contour lines on a map.' - Kieran
'Everywhere you are, there are contour lines to show the height of the land from sea level. This is helpful when looking at a flat map, but it can be confusing to work out all the numbers.' - Charlotte.
'It was sometimes hard to see the contour lines because they were really tiny, and to picture what the land was like from the shape of the lines.' - Amelia
We carried out investigations every week into forces. This included friction, air resistance, water resistance and buoyancy. We made our own parachutes, spinners and boats, as well as testing the grip of our shoes.
