Capel-le-Ferne Village Jubilee Celebrations-Community Events
To celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in June, there are several village events being organised by the Parish Council that parents and children will be welcome to attend.
Jubilee Children’s Art Competition
The Parish Council have organised an art competition, and the school has been one of the organisations invited to take part. There will be various age groups, to cover the whole of the school range. The theme is “red white and blue” to work alongside the celebration. Children should use these colours when creating their artwork, and then use their imagination and creativity! We would encourage as many pupils as possible to take part in this competition. Entries should be brought into the school by 20th May (to enable us to collate and get the artwork to the Parish Council by 24th May). Please ensure that the pupils full name and age is written on the back of the artwork. The entries will then be displayed during the jubilee celebrations at the village hall on 5th June. I have attached a poster with further details. However, please send your entries to the school, not the address listed on the poster, so that we can send them as a batch.
Procession and Beacon Lighting, Battle of Britain Memorial - Thursday 2nd June
The Parish Council have asked me to make parents aware of this event, to which you would all be welcome to attend. Please note that this is a village and not a school-led event, so any parents who attend with their children will need to be present throughout to supervise and accompany their children.
The timetable is below:
Street Party Sunday 5th June from 12:30PM
This should be another lovely community event. Please follow the link below for further details
Like the beacon lighting, this is an event organised by the Parish Council, not the school, so if parents plan to attend, please ensure that you are present to supervise your children.
I will be sending further details in the newsletter tomorrow of how the school plans to celebrate the jubilee.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
