Adverse weather arrangements Feb 2021
Snow is very unpredictable and forecasts can change, but it is wise to be prepared.
Because of Capel's position, on high ground and in a rural location, it can be adversely affected by such weather.
We will always make our very best possible efforts to keep the school open for the children in key worker and other identified groups, but this will depend very much on how safe the conditions are on the day, and whether sufficient numbers of staff can attend, depending on whether roads are blocked etc
If you are a critical worker and your child is currently attending school during the lockdown partial closure arrangements, in the event of wintry weather please only plan to do so if there is no alternative childcare available. (This is the case regardless of weather conditions).
Because of the current lockdown conditions, the normal emergency "snow" addresses will not apply. If the school has to close during the course of school day, we would contact parents and ask them to collect their child/children from school at the earliest opportunity.
In the event of bad weather, we will post up to date information on the school website. Please monitor this carefully. We also will publish our status on the Kent Closures website. At the moment this is showing as "partially open," (to critical workers etc.) If we were forced to close due to weather this would change to "closed".
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
