Home Learning

Pupils are expected to complete home learning tasks on a weekly basis. These will consist of Maths, English and wider curriculum activities to revisit and help consolidate learning we have already covered in class, or to extend knowledge and understanding through additional research to gathering additional information to increase the breadth and depth of learning. Home learning tasks will be set on a Friday and are expected to be handed in for marking by the following Wednesday morning.

In addition, pupils will benefit from maintaining good habits by::

  • Read on a daily basis, including a wide and varied range of non-fiction texts as well as stories.
  • Practise times tables - you should be quick and confidence with all times tables to 12 x 12.  Remember to also practise the associated division facts.  This can be done using your login for Times Table Rock Stars.
  • Practise spellings - this can either be from our taught spelling each week in class, or your own selection from the Year 3&4 and Year 5&6 statutory word lists.
  • Continue to practise the fluency of your joined handwriting follow the guidance given in class.
