Home Learning

As part of our Cornerstones approach to Curriculum, each term pupils across the school are encouraged to select and carry out tasks from the suggested list of project related activities for home learning. This can be presented through different media, such as powerpoints, video recordings, or on paper.

In addition, pupils will benefit from continuing to:

  • Read on a daily basis, including a wide and varied range of non-fiction texts as well as stories.
  • Practice times tables - you should be quick and confidence with all times tables to 12 x 12.  Remember to also practice the associated division facts.  This can be done using your login for Times Table Rock Stars.
  • Practice spellings - this can either be from our taught spelling each week in class, or your own selection from the Year 3&4 statutory word lists or 200 high frequency word lists, depending on what is appropriate for you.
  • Continue to practice handwriting. Please look at the guidance on how this should be presented.
  • Carry out additional research around our topic learning.
