Home Learning

Homework is handed out every Friday, to be handed in by Wednesday of the following week.

We alternate between English and Maths homework every week.

In addition, pupils should continue to to:

  • Read on a daily basis, including a wide and varied range of non-fiction texts as well as stories.
  • Practice times tables - you should be quick and confidence with all times tables to 12 x 12.  Remember to also practice the associated division facts.  This can be done using your login for Times Tables Rock Stars
  • Practice spellings - this can either be from our taught spelling each week in class, or your own selection from the Year 3&4 and 5&6 statutory word lists, linked to below.
  • Carry out additional research around our topic learning.  This can be carried out using information from the internet, the library, books you may have at home, or information told to you by other people.  It can be recorded and communicated in many suitable ways, but should always be presented in our own words (not directly copied).

Additional set tasks may still be given for pupils to revisit and practice skills they have recently covered in class.  This may be done as a whole class, or as targeted interventions for specific pupils working on specific next steps in learning.

Should you wish to carry out further practice of lessons already taught in school, or try to address gaps or confusions in your learning, you will find lots of helpful resourcing on the government recommended home learning sites:
